no formal crit. last thursday sonali and i laid out a timeline of the progress i should be making, which i have kept, except when my video camera goes missing. it has all worked out though. Paul said that my writing/research is coming along and the visual representations of it are "getting there".
What was the most motivational or creative moment of the past week?
ive been shooting, literally, every single day and coming up with ideas for two concise videos about performance. it was pretty motivating to be able to stick to one thing. my mind tends to work in 1 million different places at once.
What do you want to achieve in next week's studio practice?
i want to edit/finish these two concise video's about performance. id like to nail down the next word i will focus on and do a bit of research for that. i want to get back into using my planner because i overdrew my bank account and forgot to pay my visa bill because ive been thinking too much about performance.
What did you achieve in your studio this past week?
many many minutes of footage about motive, construction, act, and now, relic. and pages and pages and pages of writing about it.
What has been an artistic failure this week?
i think that some of my footage is still a little bit too literal. i need to think of a way to use what footage i have to bring it a step back again into a more universal, layered, piece.
What was the most profound thought in relation to your practice this week?
i have thought so much shit this past week that im not sure i remember my name. heres to 8 more months. stephanie says some pretty profound things pretty regularly, such as:
"what?! you wanna be somebody's bitch? cuz thats what you are!"
If there was a visiting artist this week, what is your impression of their work and process in relation to your own?

today, i hit a pedestrian while driving my car. he was fine.
i need to start looking for another job, even though i have NO idea how i will manage it.....but alas, i think i may need a new car.
my wisdom tooth is coming in and it hurts like a bitch.

i miss hanging out with my baby girl doggy.
i quit my job less than a month ago and the money situation is already starting to make me panic.
