Let me start off by saying that i need to burn a cd with the video pieces and rushes i have completed. the youtube "appropriateness" is a craps shoot because i just had a video blocked, which was fully clothed. i have a few here, that were allowed.
the videos i need to burn to a disc have the following working titles (in no particular order):
look at me look at you look at me (still, attached)
deadpan sketch 1 (youtube, attached)
deadpan sketch 2 (will burn to disc)
deadpan sketch 3 (will burn to disc)
ode to 8 inches (youtube, attached)
bedroom shot 1 (file type denied, will burn to disc)
door shot 1 (file type denied, will burn to disc)
shoe shot 1 (file type denied, will burn to disc)
deadpan/byrd (youtube, attached)
progress (jpg, attached)
.....these are unofficial titles, used only to describe the piece, not title it.

Onto the statement:

The work consists, primarily, of intentionally unresolved commentary on the effects of the strip club industry on the artist. It aims to shift the focus of the viewer, slightly, from the artists personal connection to her experience, to the world at large, regarding ideas of conflicting psyche, moral superiority, fatigue, performance, obsession and compulsion. Signifiers, such as “stripper heels” remain part of the work as a visual link back to the club, which remains the main inspiration of the work.
The work usually ends abruptly; unresolved, much like the numbness and disconnect that occurs within the head of the dancer.
