truth is a one minute long video vignette. It functions as an introduction to a body of work dealing with subjects of power, sexuality and femininity, with a strong emphasis on the love/hate relationship the artist has with these subjects. truth exists as a means of taking responsibility for the fact that power, sexuality and femininity, although predominately shown in the body of work, are not the only kind of truths a woman can possess. It is the necessary acknowledgment of this fact.
The words "When showing women, I sometimes omit certain parts of their existence, such as the truth" appear across the top of the screen with "such as the truth" fading in half way through the one minute time length. On the bottom of the composition, a girl in cliche exotic dancer shoes and dress dances on the floor, thus serving as an example of this issue.
