Did anyone critique your work this week? If so, what were their impressions?
yes. paul looked at my work (well, my writing). i think he really wants to get it, but i think he is assigning more meaning that he can relate to. he wanted to talk about economics and capitolism. yes. i get it. money. strip clubs. they go hand in hand. but i want to talk more about the social constructs and the class system and people who are cast aside in this world and how important they really are, simply because theyre people. their pain is important and needs to be talked about so that, as a society, we can discuss the results of the bullshit that we cast on others and how unfair it is. maybe THAT is my profound message: to examine the pain of others and how shitty peope treat eachother.....with myself as a vehichle for showing that.
What was the most motivational or creative moment of the past week?
um, about 2 hours ago at the meeting with thulin AND especially talking to jennida afterward about his shitty it is to be someone's bitch idiot servant.
What do you want to achieve in next week's studio practice?
i wanna start to make a piece about putting pain on display in order to talk about the source of the pain. am i an activist? hahahhaha.
What did you achieve in your studio this past week?
i didnt critique this week. i spent my time writing about what this work is about. i made progress. its crazy because i know exactly what this work is about. i know it inside and out, up and down, and its so clear to me, i just cant communicate it very well for some reason. i guess i just expect everyone to understand stupidity in the world. heres what ive achieved:
words that = nia's are are as follows: loss, pain, confusion, money, and putting all of the on public display so that maybe we can talk about it and progress as a society.
What has been an artistic failure this week?
still not being able to communicate my ideas. or maybe having so fucking many that they cant be organized. BUT, we have narrowed further....loss/pain.
What was the most profound thought in relation to your practice this week?
"wow, me and jennida are more similar than i thought"
"oooo! i forgot! we still hate women in this world!"
"this isnt ok, and i have no idea why you dont understand that"
If there was a visiting artist this week, what is your impression of their work and process in relation to your own?
n/a
